What a wonderful celebration was experienced at the Hall in June. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee picnic saw many members of the village and their families turn out in their ‘Red, White & Blue’, together with their dogs for the show and copious amounts of delicious food. I was particularly impressed by everyone’s kitchen creativity: Union Jack cakes, Coronation sandwiches and of course – the cheese hedgehogs. It was delightful to see the hall used for such an occasion and the outside space with the marquee worked really well with our new door! The evening festivities were also a great opportunity to meet our neighbours and much fun was had by all. Thanks go from the BVH committee to all those who prepared the hall and to the Jubilee organisers for their hard work in creating two wonderful events – and thank you for choosing the Hall as the focal point for the village celebrations.
